The Tapestry of My Life

Now toward the end of my life I find that I frequently look back at its tapestry, at all the choices and changes that are woven into its substance. Some of the threads now seem almost impossibly far away; some I remember like yesterday.

And, some threads are discolored not with age but by a choice made that I would not make now. Those fibers of my life’s tapestry are the ones I would pull out if I could. And yet, if I tug on them with that intent, the whole tapestry of my life starts to come apart. Those decisions are integral, too.

And we know that God causes all things to work TOGETHER for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Venial and Venal

Venial, from Latin veniais means something is forgivable, most commonly used in venial sins.

Venal is quite different. Coming from Latin venal it means something can be bought, most commonly used to describe a corrupt government.

Toward, Towards

In the United States it is toward; in the UK it is towards. Both are fine anywhere.
