Fortunate and Fortuitous

The first means good fortune or luck. The second means by chance or randomly. Do not write that after years of hard work the employee’s promotion was fortuitous.

Fulsome Does Not Mean What You Think It Means

Fulsome means something odious. Fulsome praise is unctuous and utterly insincere. The word is related to “foul.”
